Iowa’s 34th Army Band (Army National Guard) members have been busy during the past few weeks, beginning with performances at the 2024 Iowa National Guard Recognition Dinner, hosted by the Governor and State TAG in honor of service members who retired during the past year. Later that evening, the 34th Army Rock Band, “42 Romeo,” performed for over 700 Soldiers and their Families to close out the conference for Iowa National Guard Officer and Enlisted Associations.

During the first week of April 2024, the 34th Army Band teamed up with the IAARNG Recruiting and Retention Battalion to perform a tour of nineteen Iowa high schools and community colleges. Over the course of the week, they entertained students, teachers, and administrators with professional-quality performances while also educating them about the Iowa Army National Guard.

The “Synergy Winds” woodwind ensemble provided music for the 2024 Iowa National Guard Recognition Dinner.

SGT Evan Davis uses his turntable and sample pad to help “42 Romeo” rock put a unique spin on their tunes.

The 34th Army Band’s newly formed Brass Quintet, the “Fort Iowa Brass,” performed at eight schools and community colleges across the State of Iowa during the 34th Army Band High School Recruiting Tour.
