Throughout the year, the AGCRA–Lone Star Chapter has continued to embody what it means to serve with purpose. Across Fort Cavazos, Copperas Cove, and the surrounding Central Texas community, chapter members and partnering units demonstrated unwavering dedication to Soldiers, families, and veterans through a series of impactful events. Whether distributing food, honoring our nation’s heroes, or supporting those who safeguard the installation, the Lone Star Chapter consistently showed that service is more than an activity—it is a way of life.

Strengthening Community Through Acts of Care
The chapter began the season with another successful food drive, held at Fort Hood’s Phantom Warrior Stadium in partnership with the Main Post Chapel, H-E-B, and several supporting units. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the unity across participating organizations, the team provided fresh food and essential items to over 1,100 families. This event marked yet another milestone in the chapter’s long-standing commitment to uplift and support the greater Fort Cavazos community.
This spirit of service continued during the Thanksgiving Meal Distribution hosted by Star Group Veterans Helping Veterans in Copperas Cove. In collaboration with the 502nd Human Resources Company, volunteers distributed 550 Thanksgiving turkeys and complete holiday meals, ensuring families across Central Texas could enjoy a nourishing and meaningful holiday. Their efforts strengthened relationships with community partners and showcased the servant leadership that defines the AG Corps.
Honoring Veterans and Preserving Tradition
During the Killeen Veterans Day Parade, the Lone Star Chapter proudly represented the AG Corps and the AGCRA. With an enthusiastic group of Soldiers, leaders, youth volunteers, and families, the chapter marched in celebration of the men and women who have served our nation. Under the leadership of CPT Angela Beasley—whose coordination ensured seamless participation—the chapter honored the legacy of sacrifice and service that defines Veterans Day. Their presence was a visible reminder of the AG Corps’ promise to honor, uplift, and remember those who safeguard America’s freedoms.

Recognizing Those Who Keep Fort Cavazos Safe
In another meaningful act of community support, the Lone Star Chapter devoted a full day to showing appreciation for the installation’s first responders—the Military Police, Fire Department, and Gate Guards. Volunteers assembled and delivered snack bags as tokens of gratitude to those who stand watch to protect Soldiers, families, and civilians. These simple gestures highlighted the chapter’s recognition of the essential role these professionals play in safeguarding the installation’s security and readiness.
Leadership, Collaboration, and the Spirit of Service
At the heart of every event stood a team of committed leaders and volunteers whose efforts brought each initiative to life. Lone Star Chapter President Katrina Ford and her leadership team—alongside Soldiers from units such as the 502nd Human Resources Company and 62d ESB-E—ensured that every mission was executed with excellence, pride, and unity. From coordinating with community partners to mobilizing volunteers and encouraging participation across the Corps, the chapter’s leaders consistently demonstrated what it means to serve selflessly and lead with purpose.
Their efforts exemplify the AGCRA’s values of service, pride, and esprit de corps. Each volunteer—regardless of rank, role, or background—contributed to a shared mission: supporting the community, honoring those who serve, and strengthening the bonds that unite the AG Corps family.
