Despite cold temperatures, relentless wind, and steady rain, the AGCRA Potomac Chapter’s Petal to the Metal 5K and 10K Run proved one thing: this community shows up no matter the conditions. With 147 total participants, both in person and virtual, the event became a powerful display of resilience, teamwork, and esprit de corps.

Runners pushed through the elements with determination, volunteers remained committed to ensuring a seamless event, and supporters brought energy and encouragement throughout the course. At the same time, virtual participants showed up from across multiple locations, completing their miles and contributing to the success of the event from wherever they were.

This event was more than just a race; it reflected what the AG Corps represents. From first-time participants to seasoned runners, every individual contributed to an atmosphere of motivation and unity. Volunteers and sponsors played a critical role behind the scenes, ensuring the event’s success despite the weather.

We also proudly recognize members of the AGCRA Potomac Chapter who placed within their respective age group and gender categories: MAJ Luis Navarro earned 1st Place (5K), 1LT Reynaldo Rodriguez earned 3rd Place (5K), CW5 Charmaine Hillard earned 1st Place (5K), CW4 Blake Johnson earned 3rd Place (5K), CW3 Luisa Walker earned 3rd Place (5K), SGM Christopher “Smoke” Stevens earned 2nd Place (10K), SGM Joel Rivera-Rodriguez earned 1st Place (10K), and SPC Daquaveon Hardy earned 1st Place Male (5K). Their achievements highlight the strength, dedication, and competitive spirit within our formation.

This is what community looks like: coming together, pushing through adversity, and supporting one another no matter the distance. The success of this event reinforces the strength of the Potomac Chapter and our commitment to fostering connection, wellness, and camaraderie across the AG community.

We look forward to building on this momentum and making next year even bigger and better.
