The AGCRA Lone Star Chapter continues to demonstrate what it means to Defend and Serve through community service, professional development, esprit de corps, and recognition of excellence across the Fort Hood and Central Texas communities.
From preparing local students for the new school year to investing in the professional growth of Adjutant General Soldiers across the 1st Cavalry Division, the chapter has remained focused on strengthening both the community and the AG profession.
Serving the Central Texas Community
The Lone Star Chapter’s recent Book Bag Drive was a tremendous success.
On Friday, Vice Presidents of Programs CPT Anjae Thomas and CPT Amarie Harried delivered school supplies donated by the chapter and joined other local organizations to pack book bags for students throughout the community.
The following day, more than 1,000 book bags filled with school supplies were distributed to children and families who attended the event.
The Lone Star Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to every chapter member, volunteer, community partner, and supporter who donated supplies or contributed their time. Their efforts helped ensure local students were equipped and ready to begin the new school year.
Community service remains an important part of the chapter’s mission, and events such as the Book Bag Drive continue to demonstrate the positive impact AG professionals can have beyond the workplace.
Building Camaraderie Across the 1st Cavalry Division
AG professionals from across the 1st Cavalry Division also recently came together for an AG physical training event focused on fitness, teamwork, professional knowledge, and friendly competition.
The event included a photo scavenger hunt, push-ups, sit-ups, sprints, and an AG knowledge challenge. More importantly, it provided Soldiers from across the Division an opportunity to connect, strengthen relationships, and build camaraderie outside their normal work environments.
Events like these reinforce an important message: the Adjutant General’s Corps is more than HR—we are a team.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and to the winning team from the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, “Blackjack.”
Investing in the Next Generation of AG Professionals
Professional development remains another priority for the Lone Star Chapter and the broader AG community across the installation.
On July 30, an Adjutant General Leader Professional Development session was conducted for NCOs and Soldiers from across the 1st Cavalry Division.
The session focused on the roles and responsibilities of Army Human Resources professionals and included a review of the AG Corps career map, helping Soldiers better understand professional development, career progression, and future opportunities within the profession.
These engagements create opportunities for Soldiers to ask questions, learn from experienced HR professionals, and better understand how today’s assignments and development opportunities can prepare them for future responsibilities.
Investing in Soldiers today helps build the technical experts, NCOs, and leaders the AG Corps will need tomorrow.
