COL (Ret) Robert L. Manning, President of the Adjutant General’s Corps Regimental Association (AGCRA), has announced the winning Chapters of the Fiscal Year 2023 Chapter Recognition Program. The FY 2023 Program, in its eighth year, covered Chapter activities from 1 October 2022 through 30 September 2023.
The Fort Knox-based Gold Vault Chapter is the 2023 Chapter of the Year in the Large Chapter category. This is the fifth time the Gold Vault Chapter has been named Chapter of the Year. The Gold Vault Chapter also won Chapter of the Year in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022.
The runner-up Chapter in the Large Chapter category is the Carolina Chapter.
For the eighth year in a row, the Rocket City Chapter, located at Redstone Arsenal, AL, is the 2023 Chapter of the Year in the Small Chapter category.
The San Antonio-based Alamo Chapter is the runner-up.
The Chapters of the Year will each receive an award of $1,000 from the National Executive Council (NEC). The runners-up will each receive an award of $750.
In this eighth year of the program, 11 AGCRA Chapters participated in the program by submitting annual historical reports, an increase of two Chapters from the 2022 program.
The Chapter Recognition Program was established by the NEC in late 2015 to encourage and support Association Chapters to remain active and consistently engaged in AGCRA membership recruitment and professional development efforts. Historically, the strength of many AGCRA Chapters ebbed and flowed between active and inactive status due to deployments and reassignments, as well as frequent turnover of Chapter Officers. The NEC saw a need to provide recognition, incentives, and rewards for Chapters that remained active and engaged despite personnel turnover.
The AGCRA President will formally recognize winning Chapters at the National AG Ball, sponsored by AGCRA, to be held on June 7, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina.
